Supplies and Size

  • 1 Lion Brand Made With Love The Cottony One Yarn. 
  • US size G 4.0 mm crochet hook 
  • Stitch marker Scissors 
  • Tapestry needle 

Size (approximate): 5”

You will work in continuous rounds. Do not join at the end of each round unless the pattern instructs otherwise.

Abbreviations (US):

  •  ch – chain st
  • (s) – stitch(es) 
  • hdc – half double crochet 
  • sc – single crochet 
  • inc – increase (work 2 stitches in the same stitch) 
  • sl st – slip stitch

Instructions for Crochet Coaster Pattern

To begin Ch 2

Round 1: Work 8 hdc into the 2nd chain from the hook. (8 sts) 

Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round to mark the beginning. 

 Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (16 sts)

 Round 3: Inc, hdc in next stitch. Repeat from * to * around. (24 sts) 

 Round 4: Inc, hdc in next 2 stitches. Repeat from * to * around. (32 sts) 

 Round 5: Inc, hdc in next 3 stitches. Repeat from * to * around. (40 sts) 

 Round 6: Inc, hdc in next 4 stitches. Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to the first stitch to close the round. (48 sts)

Round 7: Ch 1, sc in the same stitch. *Work 5 hdc in next st, skip next st, sl st in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. 

 Fasten off and weave in ends.
