5 Free Crochet Dog Patterns

Save for later

My little granddaughter LOVES her dogs, but she is always trying to dress them up, and let’s just say they don’t love it. I decided to find some crochet dog patterns to make for her so she could dress them up all day long.

The patterns turned out so cute, and she’s having a blast playing make-believe with them.

These make super cute gifts and toys or simply a sweet little animal to look at while you are working in your office or home.

Let’s get started with our favorite crochet dog patterns.

These 2 little guys are so cute and look so different.  They were so much fun to make, and I think if you are a beginner who has made Amigurumi before you have the exact right skill level.

The PDF has a ton more photos and for a visual learner is easier to follow.  There is an additional cost for the PDF, but we love supporting business owners. You can easily do a colour change if you want a different-colored furry friend.

You will use the following stitches:  chain, single crochet, slip stitch, increase, invisible decrease, and the adjustable ring.

I used worsted weight yarn and love how the two pals turned out. My grand baby is definitely a dog lover and she squealed with delight when she saw them.

These little guys are super cute. She also has an Amigurumi cat pattern you can download.

You will need to know how to do a loop stitch for the dog’s ears and this amazing pattern has great video tutorials for each different look.

They make a great gift for my grand baby but I also did a few for my best friend who’s daughter is having a little boy. They are doing a super cute dog-themed nursery.

They made the cutest quilt pattern that includes a golden retriever, a French bulldog,  and an adorable dachshund,  These little fluffy dog patterns are the perfect addition.

How sweet is this little cube puppy? The pattern has great written instructions.  I used a black yarn for one of my puppies.

This Amigurumi dog pattern is easy to make and adorable. They look so cute on a bookshelf. You will need a tapestry needle to complete the different parts.

I do recommend you stuff them well with polyester filling especially the top of the head which is what most people will see.

When I saw this keychain, it was too cute not to include.  This is a free Amigurumi pattern which we always love free patterns.

You will need to know how to do a magic ring and a few basic stitches in crochet.  I did insert safety eyes just in case a kiddo or animal gets ahold of the keychain they won’t choke.

The finished item is about 1.6 inches and only uses a small amount of yarn. It’s perfect for your yarn stash. If you have a Raverly account there is a PDF version and I found several other options on Etsy.

You can do the back of the body in a solid color or you can make a spotted dog like  you will do on the front.
