The repeating triangle design gives this project a quilt-inspired look that’s perfect for rustic, modern farmhouse, or country-style décor. You can keep the neutral farmhouse palette with cream, charcoal, brick red, and taupe, or customize the colors to match your kitchen or living room. Seasonal shades work beautifully too, making this pattern easy to use year-round.

Although the Triangle coaster Crochet Pattern uses tapestry crochet colorwork, don’t let that intimidate you! If you already know how to make a single crochet stitch and change colors, you’re ready to give this project a try. The color changes create the striking design while the stitches themselves remain simple. Once you get into the rhythm, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the pattern works up.

Made with durable cotton yarn, these coasters are designed to protect your furniture from condensation while adding a handmade touch to your coffee table, kitchen island, or dining room. They’re also a fantastic stash-busting project since each coaster requires only small amounts of yarn.

Because they’re quick to crochet, this Triangle coaster Crochet Pattern is ideal for craft fairs, housewarming gifts, hostess gifts, or holiday gift baskets. Make a matching set of four or six for a coordinated look, or mix and match colors to create a collection that’s uniquely yours.

So grab your favorite cotton yarn, pick out a farmhouse-inspired color palette, and enjoy creating a set of stylish triangle crochet coasters that are as functional as they are beautiful!

Working the Colorwork Chart

Begin at the bottom-right corner of the chart.

Work the chart in single crochet, following these guidelines:

  • Odd-numbered rows are read from right to left.
  • Even-numbered rows are read from left to right.
  • Change colors whenever the chart indicates.
  • Carry the unused yarn across the top of the previous row, crocheting over it as you work. This keeps the carried yarn hidden inside your stitches and helps create a neat back.

Continue following the chart until all 24 rows are complete.

Beginner Tips

  • ✔ Keep both yarns attached while working the chart—you don’t need to cut the yarn every time you change colors.
  • ✔ Change to the new color during the last yarn over of the stitch before the color change for clean-looking color transitions.
  • ✔ Carry the unused yarn loosely so your fabric doesn’t pucker.
  • ✔ Count your stitches at the end of each row to make sure your project stays the correct width.

Congrats your triangle coaster crochet pattern is finished and you will love how your coaster turned out.
