Peggy created this diamond doily using the crochet doily free patterns. The written pattern uses single crochet and double crochet stitches, so it’s a great way to practice simple crochet stitches.

You can most definitely use different colors to match home decor.  The finished size fits nicely on a side table or a round kitchen table.  

We think this is a beautiful round doily that anyone would love in their home or as a gift.

Raine created this beautiful design. She used variegated yarn which can be tricky to learn to use as the design can get lost, but the good news is that it uses basic crochet stitches and is a great opportunity to learn some new skills. 

Someone said it reminded them of a cherry blossom tree, and I couldn’t agree more. It just screams spring to me and would be perfect for your kitchen table during spring. Definitely take a look at this free pattern. Although it’s not a simple design it might be worth exploring to make. 

Free Crochet Doily Patterns For Beginners

I loved making this Asti doily pattern. It uses simple stitches, and you can either use a multicolored yarn or learn how to change colors from a video.

It was perfect for my coffee table decor. The middle of the doily has a super cute design that looks like an intricate designs but it really isn’t. Simply follow the easy crochet doily pattern.

This pattern would be super simple to use to make a table runner if you wanted a longer piece to cover your kitchen table.

Great way to practice your crochet skills while creating a decorative piece that can become an heirloom. 

Lace Doily

This doily pattern reminded me of a lace doily my grandmother had that I received when she passed away. It uses various stitches, and you can add a pop of color if you refer something a little more colorful. 

We created this lace doily for a nursery that had soft tones of pink and yellow. The handmade doily just popped into the nursery and hopefully will be cherished by the parents for years to come.  

The delicate lacy doilies were the perfect base for the soft lamps’ mom put on top. I would say it made a great gift.

Sometimes we need an easy crochet pattern that are simpler projects. These doilies measure just 6″ and are great crochet projects. I recently went on a road trip and had about 6 hours in the car. I took the crochet yarn and my hook and made these lovely doilies as we drove across Texas. 

It’s the perfect pattern when you just need something quick. You could also easily put it in a large zip lock bag and take with you if you are waiting at a Dr appointment, or whip a few up while you are watching TV at night.

If you know how to do double crochet stitches, then this will be a super easy pattern for you. If you haven’t learned double stitches, we have a video tutorial here to help you learn it. 

​As you can see, it uses basic stitches and is a super easy crochet project. When people ask what is great as a beginner crocheter, this is definite contender. It makes beautiful doilies that are great for a dining table or side table. 

This pattern has simple lines and can use any color scheme you choose. Definitely give this design a try. 

Wisteria Doily

How sweet is this wisteria doily. It is such a beautiful doily with intricate stitches, but something you can easily make if you follow the instructions. I personally love the colors they picked, but you can easily change the color scheme to match your home decor. 

Dream Catcher Doily

This would be such a sweet doily for a bedroom or nursery to provide that protection as the baby or person sleeps at night. This doily is massive. It boasts an impressive width of 34 inches, as illustrated in the image with a hula hoop serving as a frame.

The center of this exquisite mandala doily showcases a gradient of sunny yellow, transitioning from pale to vibrant. Additionally, a smaller version is available, perfect for use as a coaster.  

You will need a 3 mm hook size. This is called a mandala crochet pattern if you love it and want to find more patterns that are similiar. 

Don’t you appreciate versatile crochet doily patterns that are both easy and free? Noteworthy stitches featured include post, picot, and v-stitches. We have listed it as intermediate as most beginners haven’t practiced these stitches but if you have definitely to give it a try. 

This would be precious if you are doing sunflower decor in a bedroom or nursery. I also love there is a pattern for a coaster also, so that is a bonus in this crochet mandalas pattern.

Susan made this for her bedroom, and although she says the pattern itself isn’t difficult, the counting and creating this large of a doily is probably more geared towards an intermediate crocheter.

As a beginner crocheter, start with one of the smaller patterns and get your crochet skills good before attempting this one. 

Definitely give it a try if you consider yourself a beginner, but you have made numerous projects. It might challenge you a little bit but that isn’t a bad things right?
